SUMMARY:  The Inside Sales Representative is the primary contact with the customer relative to all commercial matters from quotation through delivery of the product.




  • Act as the voice of the customer, analyze customer feedback and recommend appropriate responses.
  • Receive and act on all customer calls, faxes, e-mail and voicemail.
  • Advise and resolve with customers and internal groups any conflicts or questions pertaining to open orders and quotations.
  • Solicit involvement of other WBC departments as necessary to participate in customer satisfaction improvements.
  • Prepare written correspondence to customers such as letters, memos, and faxes as necessary.
  • Create costs whenever possible for quotations.
  • Prepare initial quotations, setting product price, and lead time.
  • Negotiate with customers issues pertaining to price, lead time, and special order requirements.
  • Follow up with customers to close open quotations.
  • Retrieve purchase orders, amendments and planning schedules via the internet. Acknowledge purchase orders, shipments and change notices via the internet. Contract Review.
  • Review purchase orders and enter into computer, verify drawings revisions, quantity, VP%, quality requirements and any other pertinent information.
  • Assist in expediting orders as needed.
  • Assist in production control as needed.
  • Strive to maintain accounts receivables at 60 days or less. Assist accounting with invoicing and collections.
  • Update customer order status reports and milestones.
  • Manage customer visits to BPI for assigned accounts: Create agenda for visit, Escort customer throughout visit, including dinners, tours, and meetings.  Facilitate meetings as necessary. 
  • Travel as required to customer locations.
  • Strive to maintain share with assigned accounts, always looking for opportunities for growth and new business.
  • Assist in planning and setting goals for assigned accounts.
  • Collect data and prepare sales charts and graphs as necessary for reporting purposes.
  • Present to peers results, plans, and goals for assigned accounts.
  • Present in monthly department meeting (to shop floor personnel) business conditions and issues with customers.
  • Work on project teams and lean events as needed.
  • Work on continuous process improvement in all areas.




  • Associates degree in Business, Communications or Related Discipline required (Bachelors Degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience (customer service or sales preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal correspondence
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing systems, especially production and inventory control
  • Strong computer skills including: windows NT, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and mainframe systems
  • Highly organized with exceptional follow-up skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Good client relationship and rapport-building skills
  • Team player and collaborative
  • Limited Travel
  • Knowledge of manufacturing drawings and material specifications
  • Experience with LEAN or Continuous Improvement highly desired
