Under the general supervision of the Assistant Controller, responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Dover Accounting Policy.


Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from various departments and the general ledger system.  Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.  Performs a variety of tasks.

  •  Assist in accurate financial statement preparation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
  • Work with Plant Controllers/Cost Analysts to ensure revenues and expenses are fairly stated for each of the reporting locations on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Analyze options by verifying information and developing spreadsheet reports.
  • Answer financial and accounting questions by researching into and interpreting data.
  • Prepare journal entries monthly in accordance with GAAP for assigned accounts and locations. 
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Assist in coding of Accounts Payable invoices as needed.
  • Support corporate financial requirements as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance operating conditions of the department, finance function and overall business operations.
  • Special projects as needed.
  • Travel may be required, 5-10% annually.

  • The candidate with have strong understanding of and ability to implement Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  An understanding of country, state and local tax requirements is necessary.
  • Attention to Detail required.  Acumen for dealing with payroll concepts and accuracy critical to position requirements.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
  • Must possess strong analytical abilities, math skills and statistical analysis skills
  • The qualified candidate must be able to troubleshoot and resolve complex accounting issues. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors of Accountancy or equivalent degree required.  Pursuing CPA or MBA preferred.
